Blended by Fritz Miesbauer at Stadt Krems, this white wine has typical Gruner Veltliner aromatic characters coming through: notes of pepper and spice, and on the palate the wine has freshness, a very slight spritz, but a soft, rounded texture. Well-known as an extremely versatile food wine, this Gruner will work with many different flavours, even spicy, Asian cuisine.
Fritz Miesbauer is the inspiration behind this very fine company. As the name suggests, the company and its 35 hectares of vines belong to the city of Krems. It is located right in the town, close by the old city walls. This city winery traces its origins back to 1452. But back in 2003, when Fritz arrived they needed investment and dynamic leadership, and Fritz has brought both. This is now a thoroughly modern operation, and the city leaves Fritz a free hand in all his initiatives. The cellar has been developed, expanded and totally modernised, the vineyards have been renovated and replanted and the range of wines rationalised.
