Lopez de Heredia is Spain's best producer of white wines with Riojas that seem to be impenetrable to age. For over 140 years, four generations of the López de Heredia family have devoted themselves to producing exceptional and unique wines. Masterpieces which have achieved that which the founder of the company, Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, defined in the late nineteenth century as the "Supreme Rioja".
2005 was an excellent vintage, warm, ripe and the grapes were picked before the rains of October 12th. Planted on white limestone-rich soils and matured in used oak barriques for six years before bottling.
Smelling the wine in the glass is a treat on its own, with incredibly well developed aromas. It’s nutty with hints of honey, chamomile, dried flowers and spices from the oak.
