Variety: Arneis
Region: California/Utah, USA
Evan Lewandowski works with fruit from prime vineyard real estate in California, but produces his wines in the state of Utah. It's an unlikely setup, but one that just works. His Arneis comes from the Fox Hill vineyard, just outside of Ukiah in Norcal. Mahlon in local Piedmontese dialect (where the Arneis grape originates) means "the little rascal". The grape is tricky to farm and work with, but is a great translator or "terroir", and this is an electric and bright example of the variety.
