Veuve Fourny is a family-owned winery that is now in the hands of the fifth generation. The average age of the vines that they work in their vineyards are 40 years old, a rarity in the world of dominated by ultra-commercial brands aiming for volume. This is a Blanc des Blancs, which means it is made entirely from the Chardonnay grape grown in chalky soils. This translates to a wine that is incredibly tense and full of acidic structure. The wine is laden with citrus backbone, as well as brioche and yeasty characteristics.
