Variety: Pinot Noir
Baden in southern Germany has a lot to offer to Pinot Noir lovers. This fine-grained, earthy Spatburgunder displays ripe cherry flavours, a touch of spice and long length.
The Wassmer vineyards, some of which contain some very old vines, are located in the idyllic wine towns of Dottingen, Laufen, Auggen and Schlatt. Thanks to the unique climate of the region, also known as the ‘Tuscany of Germany’, the terroir lends itself to exceptional production of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, as well as the more unusual Gutedel (also known as Chasselas), Gewurztraminer and Muscatel. All of the Wassmer wines are matured exclusively in barriques.
