Owned by Dup Francesco and Laura de Franco, the small winery is situated in the DOC of Ciro, nestled between the Ionian Sea and the Sila mountains. While the region is primarily known for bulk wine production, ‘A Vita produces around 2000 cases annually, garnering attention for their minimal farming and winemaking practices.
Their Gaglioppo fruit, sourced from vineyards near the Ionian Sea, undergoes the saignee method, resulting in a darker rosato with a distinctive brickish hue. Salty and with a pronounced tannic structure, it authentically captures the essence of Mediterranean rosé.
