Chateau Lanessan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Bordeaux, France
A fresh and structured Haut-Médoc red wine.
The estate: Château Lanessan’s vineyard has belonged to the Bouteiller family since the 18th century. Eight generations have succeeded one another. Since 2020, the management of the estate has been carried out by a new team that has strengthened its long-standing partnership with the famous Médoc oenologist, Eric Boissenot. Today, Château Lanessan is poised among the finest references in Haut-Médoc.
The vineyard: Château Lanessan covers 42 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation. The vines are 20 years old on average and are planted on deep Garonne gravel upon a clay and gravel subsoil.
Vinification and ageing: Harvested at full maturity, the grapes undergo a rigorous selection by optical sorting. Fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete vats precedes a 12-month ageing period in 225-litre French oak barrels (1/3 new barrels, 1/3 one-year-old barrels and 1/3 two-year-old barrels).
The blend: Cabernet Sauvignon (57%), Merlot (36%), Petit Verdot (7%).
Colour: Château Lanessan 2021 has a purple colour with violet highlights.
Nose: The aromatic bouquet harmoniously reveals notes of fresh red fruit, violets and toasted fragrances.
Palate: Château Lanessan 2021 is a fresh and structured wine. Highly delicate, this wine is one of the appellation's most pleasant surprises.
