Grape(s): Merlot, Syrah

An unusual blend of Merlot and Syrah, that works really well, with the red and black fruits of the Merlot dominating to start with, the Syrah giving back up power and spice

An unusual blend of Merlot and Syrah, that works really well, with the red and black fruits of the Merlot dominating to start with, the Syrah giving back up power and spice emerging more with time. With only 16% of the Wine aged for 18 months in, 225-litre, 400-litre and 500-litre French and Bulgarian oak barrels, this powerful wine still has balance, well worth a try.

Multi-tasker Ivo Varbenov is a successful Concert Pianist, wine maker and the leading light promoting the burgeoning Bulgarian wine scene in the UK. Sadly, his Great Aunt left all her vineyards to the Orthodox Church so after much research, he purchased vines in the South Saker Mountains of Bulgaria's Thracian Lowlands region close to the Greek and Turkish border. Evry vintage Ivo renames each wine with pieces of music, according to their mood and style.
