Though Kumeu River has earned global acclaim for their exceptional Chardonnay, their Pinot Gris is making remarkable strides and quickly gaining recognition. Cultivated in the Auckland region, the grapes are meticulously handpicked and subjected to a gradual fermentation process driven by wild yeasts. Fermentation is deliberately halted just prior to complete dryness, resulting in a subtle trace of residual sweetness. Prominent notes of peach and stone fruit emerge on the nose, persisting as key flavors on the palate. The texture is opulent and enveloping, complemented by an invigorating liveliness.
This is a wine that goes particularly well with intensely flavoured foods especially spicy dishes with which it makes a spectacular combination.
