Grape(s): Malbec
Region: Mendoza
The Matías Riccitelli Tinto de la Casa is a unique Malbec red wine that is the result of co-fermenting Malbec sourced from from two different vineyards. The first 50% of grapes are sourced from vineyards in Las Compuertas and the second lot are sourced from Gualtallary, a locale that gives Malbec its spicy characteristics. Fermentation is performed with 50% whole bunches in small vats of French oak and with wild yeasts. Ageing takes place in the same French oak vats for a further 12 months. Deep purple in colour the Tinto de la Casa has a floral and spicy nose. Complex, rich and soft tannins.
